	Editor's Message: CUHK Faculty of Engineering 25 Years of Excellence
	Founded by Professor Sir Charles Kao in 1991, the Faculty has a proud history of training scientific research professionals who serve society, and pursue groundbreaking research that can change the world. Today it has built up its reputation for excellence in education and research, and also become one of the top engineering schools in the region.


			Research and Development: Let Me Give You A Hand: A dexterous robot that helps ENT surgeons with manipulation tasks We have recently developed a dexterous robotic system which can assist ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeons with manipulation tasks during sinus surgery.


			Research and Development: Image Super-Resolution by Deep Learning By employing a joint optimisation approach on a deep convolutional neural network model, the research team harnesses the power of deep learning to develop a state-of-the-art method for single image super-resolution.

	CUHK ranked no. 1 in HK in the subject of electrical & electronic engineering The Chinese University of Hong Kong ranked no. 1 in Hong Kong in the subject of electrical & electronic engineering.




	Computer Science and Engineering duo won Best Paper at SIGMOD 2015 GAN and TAO from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering won the Best Paper Award at SIGMOD 2015.




	Engineering team won in the ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC) is one of the most important grand challenges in computer vision.




	Computer Science students were Champions of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow A Computer Science student team won the champion in "Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2015" app development competition.




	Engineering team's solar car won the Renewable Energy Capture & Conversion Efficiency Award The CUHK team won the Renewable Energy Capture & Conversion Efficiency Award at the "New Energy New Generation" Solar Car Competition.




	International fellowships and awards for our top professors Our professors have been awarded prestigious fellowships and IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award.




	CUHK students won top awards in the 14th Challenge Cup CUHK students won top awards in the 14th Challenge Cup held at Guangdong University of Technology, beating competition from more than 300 participating universities.




	Outstanding achievement of women in CUHK Engineering Female Faculty students and professor are recognized for outstanding achievement in local and international events.




	Prof. Jonathan CHOI received Croucher Innovation Award Prof. Jonathan CHOI from the Biomedical Engineering Programme received the Croucher Innovation Award 2016 worth HK$5 million.
