Admission Channels:

Admission to the Major Programmes

Admitted students will not have a specific major in their first year of study. They will study faculty-common foundation courses, and at the same time, explore their own interests in different areas of engineering. The Faculty will assign an experienced professor to be the academic counselor for each student, so as to provide individualized advices and assistance.

At the end of the first year, students will be asked to choose their preferred majors. Their preferences will be the most important consideration in the major allocation process. The Faculty aims to assign as many students as possible to their most preferred programmes, as long as the programmes have sufficient resources and facilities (e.g., laboratory spaces and equipments) to ensure quality teaching and learning.

Students with outstanding academic performances will be given higher priority to be admitted to their most preferred major programmes. It is expected that the vast majority of students could be allocated to the Major programmes of their 1st choice or 2nd choice.

Scholarships
The Faculty would offer various entrance scholarships to newly admitted students with outstanding public examination results.
