The CUHK STEM courses support and promote STEM education in Hong Kong by providing secondary school students with enhancement training, helping them build a stronger and broader foundation for university studies in STEM-related disciplines.

Pilot Courses
The pilot courses are jointly organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science on CUHK campus. The one-week intensive courses comprise lectures and tutorials in Maths and Physics, and Engineering project workshops.

The course aims to bring forth the essence of STEM; to integrate engineering with mathematical and scientific theories. It consists of the teaching of mathematics and physics, together with an engineering project. Learning is achieved not simply through assembling a measuring instrument, but instead, participants are required to perform data analysis and optimisation. The process involves knowledge of University Year 1 mathematics and physics. Course content has been carefully designed to cater to the learning ability of high school students with a science background.

Date:3-7 July 2017 and on 10-11 July 2017 (reserved for make-up classes if classes are re-scheduled due to bad weather conditions)
Time:9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Eligibility
JUPAS or Non-JUPAS local applicants who have selected a programme choice(s) in CUHK Science and/or Engineering Faculty are invited to apply. Other applicants will also be considered if vacancy is available.

In selection of participants, those with a suitable background in Science or Mathematics will be preferred. In case of over subscription, those who applied earlier will have priority.
