Biography

Dr. Joseph Mizrahi is a Professor Emeritus of Biomedical Engineering. He was the incumbent of the Pearl Milch Chair of Biomedical Engineering Sciences in the years 2002‐2013. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Dr. Joseph Mizrahi received his B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering in 1967; M.Sc. in Mechanics in 1970; and D.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering in 1975, all from the Technion, IIT.   He has held positions in the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg as Senior Lecturer (1976‐1979) and in the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Center in Ra'anana, Israel as Director of the Biomechanics Laboratory (1979‐1982).   He has been with the Technion‐  IIT since 1982.   During this period, he has also had visiting appointments in the Harvard Medical School, Boston (1989‐1990), the University of Cape Town (1991), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (1998‐1999) and Drexel University, Philadelphia (2010). He served as Dean of the Technion BME Faculty for 5 years (2004‐2009).
