CUHK-CUHK(SZ) Academic Forum in Science and Engineering

2022-02-22

Jointly organized by the CUHK Faculty of Engineering, CUHK Faculty of Science and CUHK(SZ) School of Science and Engineering, the online Academic Forum in Science and Engineering was successfully held on 18 February 2022. It provided an invaluable platform for academia and researchers in CUHK & CUHK(SZ) for exchanges in different disciplines in the field of science and engineering. The Forum aimed at strengthening the research collaboration between the two institutions, creating a synergy among the three parties for joint supervision of graduate students, and coordinating the application of various research grants.

Three Faculty Deans, Prof. Martin D.F. Wong, Dean of Engineering, CUHK, Prof. Chunshan Song, Dean of Science, CUHK and Prof. Benzhong Tang, Dean of Science and Engineering, CUHK(SZ), were invited to address the participants at the opening ceremony, followed by the presentation of 27 faculty members from the three faculties. The latest research findings, along the topics on Computer Science and Engineering, Optics and Communications, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Energy Technology, etc. were presented. Research seminars categized into 4 sub-forums were also held concurrently, namely, (I) Mathematics, (II) Chemistry, Material, Energy and Physics; (III) and (IV) Computer and Information Engineering and Electronic Engineering (CIE-EE). Eleven faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering delivered talks in the CIE-EE sub-forums as follows:
