Prof. Jianwei Huang Receives Distinguished Service Award From IEEE Communications Society MMTC

Prof. Jianwei Huang from the Department of Information Engineering received the 2015 Distinguished Service Award from IEEE Communications Society Multimedia Communications Technical Committee (MMTC), for his exemplary services contributions to MMTC community over a sustained period of time. The award will be officially given during IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) in London this June.
 
MMTC is responsible for multimedia related technical activities on behalf of IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). During the past several years, Prof. Jianwei Huang has served in various leadership roles for MMTC, including the Electronic-Letter Director (2010), Vice Chair (2010-2012), and Chair (2012-2014) of MMTC. He has represented MMTC on the Steering Committees of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM) and IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME), both of which are flagship publication venues for multimedia communications.
 
Prof. Jianwei Huang is an active volunteer in the IEEE ComSoc community. Besides his service in MMTC, Prof. Huang has been an editor of several leading ComSoc journals, including IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications - Cognitive Radio Series, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking. He also served as the Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE ComSoc Technology News. Currently he is the Vice Chair of IEEE ComSoc Cognitive Network Technical Committee (TCCN), and a Distinguished Lecturer of ComSoc.
