SEEM Department and InvestHK Co-organise FinTech Seminar Series

The Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management has collaborated with InvestHK to organize a FinTech Seminar Series on 1 November 2017.

As part of the FinTech Education Week, the FinTech seminar series presented a number of leading FinTech practitioners lecturing on recent advances and developments in the area.  Mr. Charles d’Haussy, Head of FinTech, Invest Hong Kong has shared his expertise by introducing Fintech Entrepreneurship in Hong Kong. Mr. Louis Mak, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, I-Access Group and Director, Board of Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute was invited to talk on the Rise of P2P Financial Services.  Prof. Helen Meng, Chairman, Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management has briefed on the Big Data Decision Analytics at CUHK while Mr. Chung Chi Wai, Manager, Fintech Facilitation Office, Hong Kong Monetary Authority has elaborated the opportunities and challenges of the FinTech Ecosystem in Hong Kong.

FinTech is an emerging engineering discipline that focuses on employing technological innovations in financial practices. To meet the surging demands for FinTech professionals, the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management has launched a new four-year undergraduate programme in FinTech (JUPAS Code: JS4428) in the 2017/18 academic year, the first of its kind in Hong Kong. It actively collaborates with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Financial bodies to host various kinds of experiential activities for students ranging from seminars to internship and overseas exchange.
