Faculty Annual Award Presentation Ceremony cum 25th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony

The Faculty of Engineering's annual Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 20 February to give recognition to outstanding Faculty and staff – who are dedicated to providing the highest quality education and to making a difference to the Faculty.  The ceremony also offers an opportunity to recognize students with outstanding academic performance, and colleagues for their contributions to the Faculty.  We are delighted to have Mr. Chan Siu Hung, Managing Director- China, CLP Holdings to be the Guest of Honor of the event, and Mr. Lee Wai Kwong, CEO, ASM Pacific Technology Ltd to present his company Scholarship, in amount of $100,000, to 10 outstanding engineering students.  Prof. Wong Ching Ping, Dean of Education, presented the certificates to undergraduates and postgraduate students who made the Dean's Honours List.

裘槎基金會昨日舉行頒獎典禮，頒授「前瞻科研大獎」及「優秀科研者獎」給來自香港中文大學、香港大學和香港科技大學的八名優秀學者，以表揚他們卓越的科研成就。獲獎的學者，其中四位獲頒「裘槎前瞻科研大獎」，三位獲得「裘槎優秀科研者獎」及一位獲「裘槎優秀醫學科研者獎」。頒獎典禮由楊紫芝教授主禮。

港大牙科 膺世界一哥

大學排名調查機構QS（Quacquarelli Symonds）公布最新全球大學在四十二個學科的排名，本港六間大學均有學科打入世界頭五十名，香港大學更有六個學科打入全球十強，當中牙醫學科由去年排名第二躍升至榜首，榮登「世界一哥」寶座。

港大牙醫學院世界第一

QS最新的世界學科排名出爐，其中香港大學牙醫學院位列世界第一，教育、土木工程及語言學均躋身世界前10，此外該校有29科位列世界前50。以最多學校躋身世界50強計算，本港大學中排次位的是中文大學，有17科排世界前50，排名最佳的是電子電氣工程，排世界第20；科技大學則有12科位列前50。

正名打「強心針」 教院急升三位

正名在即的香港教育學院再次證明學院的教研實力。教院在今次的教育學科排名中，由去年排第十五位急升三位至今年的十二位，在亞洲的排名亦由第三名升至第二名，僅次於香港大學的教育學科。
